European Renewable Associations are calling for higher renewable expansion targets by 2030

Today several European renewable associations such as WindEUROPE and EUREC called on the European Commission to work towards a higher expansion target for renewable energies by 2030. The expansion should be increased by at least 35 percent by 2030, significantly above the energy package of the Commission, which currently only states 27%.

The associations are of the opinion that the Paris Climate Deal can only be achieved by an increase of clean energy. In addition, an increase is necessary to strengthen Europe's leading role in the renewables sector.
